Are we there yet?

There's not much to be said about the period except that most writers don't reach it soon enough. – William Zinsser in On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction.
I don’t have much to say about this statement, but I agree with it. (And I think it's funny!) I always find sentences in my drafts that can be trimmed of one or more words without losing meaning. Yes, I’ve read a couple of stories that were written in one long sentence on purpose. I can’t say their significantly better than stories written in multiple sentences, but that’s just my opinion.
