I suppose it could be argued that prostitution is the reason for the development of good storytelling. Those guys had to have something believable to tell their wives when they got home.
Good storytelling has been important to mankind since...well...forever. It’s an engaging way to communicate ideas. Don’t you wish some of your school teachers/college professors were better storytellers? :) And probably more than ever, we need good storytellers in today’s world. As a writer, if I can make people think of something other than the problems they face, even if just for a few minutes, I’ve served a purpose.
