On Editing

“If one person doesn't understand what you're trying to pull off, then maybe it's that person, but if you get the same criticism repeatedly, then you're not getting your point across.” -- Heidi Thomas in What is Editing?
I keep this statement in mind when responding to critiques and when in the advanced editing stages of a story. It's easy to be stubborn about cutting or changing the wording of my excellent prose, but I know from experience that if I receive similar comments from multiple critiques, the points made are valid.
