Visualize Your Characters Better

“When you have written a story and it has come back a few times and you sit there trying to write it over again and make it more impressive, do not try to think of better words, more gripping words. Try try to see the people better.” – Brenda Ueland in If You Want to Write.
Friday's quote dealt with choosing the right words. Today's quote suggests getting closer to your characters. I've been doing this more in recent stories, trying to put myself in their situations. I feel better about the stories I've produced. I'm still waiting to hear if the editors I've submitted the stories to agree with me.
